Andrew P. Taylor

Mr. Taylor practices primarily in the fields of real estate, banking and estate planning/settlement. He is the Legal Counsel for Artisans’ Bank, The Delaware Association of Realtors, and The New Castle County Board of Realtors. He is a Corporator and Director of Artisans' Bank. In the years 1993-2012, Mr. Taylor has been named in Woodward/White's Directory as one of the Best Lawyers in America in the Real Estate field. In 2010 he was recognized in Delaware Today as one of the top lawyers in the field of Real Estate Law.
He is a committee member and assistant Scoutmaster for his son's Boy Scout Troop 2 and a past President of the Board of Trustees of The Independence School. He is also a board member and treasurer of Family Promise of Northern New Castle County. Mr. Taylor also mentors a few students each year in aluminum welding for the FIRST team MOE365. Mr. Taylor is a member of the Committee of 100. He also lectures and teaches extensively to real estate brokers and salespeople in the field of Real Estate Law.
Mr. Taylor was an expert witness in the Mid-Atlantic Settlement Services case before the Board on the Unauthorized Practice of Law of the Supreme Court of the State of Delaware and has worked as an expert in other real estate cases.
Mr. Taylor was primarily responsible for drafting the following legislation in the State of Delaware: 1. Delaware’s original agency disclosure statute. 2. Psychologically Impacted Properties section. 3. Buyer Property Protection Act providing for Seller’s Disclosure of Real Property Condition Report Form. 4. Delaware Fair Housing Act 1992. 5. Delaware Agency statute, 2007 and Consumer Information Statements. 6. Amendments to Delaware Agency Statute 2008. 7. Provided substantial comments to DeREC for revisions to Seller’s Disclosure form. 2008 8. Provided comments to re-write of Delaware Landlord Tenant Code. 9. Substantial assistance with the Licensing Act and Regulations for Real Estate Brokers and Salespeople 2008-2011. 10. Prohibition on Private Transfer Fees 2010 11. Re-write of CIS 2011 and regulations
