Professional Experience
Mr. Burtch is the head of the Bankruptcy Department at Cooch and Taylor and has 33 years of experience in the practice of law in Delaware including substantial litigation experience in both State and Federal Courts.
Since 1993, Mr. Burtch has been a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Panel Trustee for the District of Delaware. In that capacity, he has administered hundreds of Chapter 7 corporate asset cases involving a variety of commercial entities engaged in telecommunications, transportation, healthcare, HMOs, medical supplies, real estate, mining, mortgages, retail sales, cosmetics, jewelry, etc.
Representative bankruptcy cases Mr. Burtch has administered include: Eclipse Aviation Corp.; Archway Cookies, LLC; Dan River, Inc.; Aerothrust, Corp.; Opus East, LLC; Factory 2-U Stores, Inc.; J. Silver Clothing, Inc.; The Cosmetic Center; O-Cedar Brands, Inc.; General Rental, Inc.; The Phone Company; Allied Digital Technologies Corporation; Net Radio Communications; Phoenix Laser Systems, Inc.; LG Philips Displays USA, Inc.; Primary Health Systems; Worldwide Medical Corporation; Synova Healthcare, Inc.; Allendale Pharmaceuticals, Inc.; Northwest Suburban Community Hospital; Chama, Inc.; Ted Parker Home Sales; and Nixon Fork Mining Corporation.
Mr. Burtch has been involved in significant bankruptcy litigation both in his capacity as a panel trustee and as an attorney.
